Dr Adeel Khan
Medical Lead & Locum Consultant Psychiatrist

Dr Adeel Khan is an experienced Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with a strong NHS background across crisis services, home treatment pathways, specialist eating disorder teams and neurodevelopmental assessment clinics. His practice is grounded in evidence‑based assessment, robust risk management and compassionate support for young people with complex mental health and neurodevelopmental needs.
Dr Khan has worked across multiple CAMHS services, including crisis and home treatment teams, dedicated eating disorder pathways and neurodevelopmental clinics assessing ADHD and autism. He has extensive experience in the assessment and management of ARFID, physical‑health‑related eating disorders, catatonia, psychosis, and high‑risk presentations requiring careful multidisciplinary coordination.
Alongside his clinical roles, Dr Khan has contributed to teaching at Oxford University, supporting the development of future clinicians and strengthening academic links within child and adolescent mental health.
Dr Khan completed his MB BS in 2002 at the University of Karachi, followed by broad experience across both physical and mental health settings. This strong foundation enables him to take a holistic, formulation‑driven approach, particularly for young people whose needs span multiple domains — neurodevelopmental, emotional, behavioural, medical and social.

Dr Luiza Whittome
Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist

Dr Luiza Whittome is a highly experienced Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with extensive NHS CAMHS experience across crisis, home treatment and specialist neurodevelopmental pathways. She brings over a decade of psychiatric practice to The Kalamitia Clinic, with particular expertise in the assessment and management of complex mental health presentations, autism and ADHD.
Luiza has worked in multiple senior CAMHS roles, including Consultant Psychiatrist positions within East London NHS Foundation Trust and Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. She has led clinical teams across crisis services, home treatment, neurodevelopmental pathways and specialist outpatient care, and has significant experience supporting children and adolescents with high‑risk, high‑complexity presentations.
Before specialising in child and adolescent psychiatry, Luiza worked as a general adult psychiatrist and gained broad experience across acute inpatient units and liaison psychiatry. Her international medical training and diverse clinical background contribute to her holistic, culturally sensitive and family‑centred approach.
Luiza is GMC Specialist Registered, Section 12 approved, and a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. She completed her medical degree and residency at the Universidade de Brasília before undertaking further psychiatric training within the NHS East of England Deanery.

Chelsea Laing
Clinical Lead & Advanced Clinical Practitioner
Designated Safeguarding Lead
Chelsea Laing is an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP), Registered Learning Disability Nurse and Independent Prescriber with over a decade of specialist experience supporting children and young people with complex mental health, neurodevelopmental and learning disability needs.
She has spent over ten years working within CAMHS Crisis Services and Transforming Care pathways, providing expert clinical leadership across Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes. Chelsea holds an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice (Distinction) and is known for delivering high‑quality, neuroaffirming assessment, formulation and intervention for children and adolescents.
Her practice integrates advanced clinical assessment, prescribing, crisis intervention, safeguarding, and multi‑agency partnership working. Chelsea is recognised for her ability to support young people and families through highly challenging situations with clarity, compassion and specialist expertise.
Clinical Expertise
Chelsea specialises in autism and ADHD assessment (including DIVA‑5, ACES and 3Di), neurodevelopmental formulation, independent CAMHS prescribing, crisis intervention, admission avoidance, safeguarding, complex risk management, positive behaviour support, trauma‑informed practice and family‑centred support.
Specialist training
Her practice is supported by advanced training including the National Autism Trainer Programme, Respond mental health simulation (train the trainer), DIVA‑5, ACES, 3Di, DBT‑A, ACT, Positive Behaviour Support (BILD), DICES risk management, psychopharmacology, physical health for mental health staff, and multiple Autism Bedfordshire modules covering autism and mental health, sensory processing, eating disorders, demand avoidance, and autism in women and girls.
This breadth of training enables Chelsea to deliver safe, effective, evidence‑based neurodevelopmental assessments and prescribing.
Chelsea leads clinical governance, safeguarding, and quality assurance within the service.
